Hi guys!
The end of October sees my official 7th month of blogging come to an end.
And what a stellar month it was.
Everything started to improve big time in October.
I finally got my Mediavine ads to go live around mid October.
I had the biggest month in terms of traffic.
And I had a day where I nearly reached 20 000 page views.
One of the first things that got me really inspired as a blogger before even starting out was reading how some of my favorite bloggers grew.
It gave me a lot of insight about what goes into creating a successful blog, and also allowed me to see exactly what’s possible!
So toward the end of 2018 I bought my domain, wrote 5 posts, made a Facebook account and left it all. Then in April 2019, I decided to actually give this blogging thing a go!
The end of October marks the end of my 7th month blogging seriously, and it has been a mix of emotions this month, with traffic going up and down like crazy!
I want these traffic updates to help all aspiring bloggers who are currently getting started and need some advice, inspiration and motivation! Follow me on my blogging journey every month, and hopefully your traffic grows with mine!

October 2019 Blog Traffic Report
October 2019 saw Richard-t.com get over 227 000 page views, mostly coming from Pinterest.

Clearly I had quite a good month!
This was my first ever month where I experienced over 100 000 page views.
As you can see in the graph above, I had a pin go massively viral early on in the month.
Where I nearly had 20 000 page views in one single day!
Anyone who tells you that Pinterest is dead or not working anymore is clearly misinformed.
It’s a blogger’s goldmine.
You just need to make sure you are approaching it the correct way.
If you haven’t done so yet, check out my previous blog traffic reports:
- July Traffic Report – 24 638 Page Views
- August Traffic Report – 27 331 Page Views
- September Traffic Report – 58 451 Page Views
Below is a visual representation of my blog traffic since starting out.

Now I don’t expect the trend to keep growing at such a crazy fast rate. That wouldn’t be normal.
But it’s great to see!
What’s Gone Well In October’s Blog Traffic?
Naturally everything went well!
I literally ticked off all my goals for the month, and exceeded my traffic goals by over 100k hits.
I have had success in a short space of time as blogger all thanks to Pinterest.
It literally has changed the game for me, and has allowed me to turn my blog into an actual business.
I know many people say Google SEO is the way to go, and that Pinterest is super volatile etc.
But I cannot think of any other platform that allows you to get over 200k page views in a month within 7 months of starting out.
That’s just mental!
And all of it is FREE traffic.
As I have said in previous blog traffic reports, I have the one and only Pinterest Traffic Avalanche course to thank for the Pinterest success I am having.
I joined the course before even opening up a Pinterest account.
So I literally started out with them, and now I feel like it’s all paying dividends.
I highly suggest you check them out right now!
My Pinterest reach has reached 10 million already. Check it out below. Insane!

With Pinterest, I have found success coming from three things:
- Firstly, creating more content that’s actually being searched on Pinterest;
- Secondly, being consistent. Posting new posts at least 4 times a week with brand new pins seems to be working well;
- And lastly, making multiple pins per post. I make about 8-10 pins per post and schedule them all. If none of them take off, I’ll make a new batch!
Choosing to write about topics that are already quite popular on Pinterest is another important aspect of getting your pins in front of readers.
A quick side note: If you would like to start your very own blog, then check out this in-depth, 8 step tutorial showing you exactly how to get started!
Let me quickly show you an example of how to find content that is really popular on Pinterest.
Let’s say you want to write an article about vegetarian recipes.
You search the term “vegetarian recipes” and you see the following results:

Now “vegetarian recipes” might be a little vague and over saturated, so you can go in a little further and look at some of the keywords below and see how popular these posts are.

Now I’d select “Healthy” and check out the first few pins on the top line for the amount of repins.

As you can see, Pin 1 has 16k repins and Pin 2 has 26k repins.
So “healthy vegetarian recipes” seems to be popular!
Obviously you can go more into detail when doing it this way, but this is just a basic example of how to find popular content!
In April I purchased and started implementing the strategies I learn’t from probably the best Pinterest course I could possibly have bought, which is the Pinterest Traffic Avalanche course.
It took me a few months to see results, but damn am I happy!
This course, in my opinion, is the number one Pinterest course available right now, and is extremely in-depth!
I will soon be writing a full review on them, but for now click the link below and check them out!
Blog Posts
A few posts did really this month, continuing from last month.
The following articles were my most popular in October:
- 25 Best Fall Crockpot Recipes That’ll Warm You Up
- 25 Dollar Store Halloween Decor DIY Ideas That Are Spooky
- 15 Minute Bodyweight Workout For Men
Same posts as last month still doing well. Which shows that Pinterest virality can keep going for weeks and weeks!
Goals For November
Before we go into November’s blog goals, let’s take a look at last month’s goals and see if they were achieved or not.
Hit 70 000 page viewsKeep writing posts each week, with a focus on the holiday seasonGet to 2500PinterestfollowersComplete a media kit and begin to reach out to companies for potential sponsorsTest out an Instagram account, and make a few new graphics. Will be interesting to see how it goes
I completed a media kit, but am yet to reach out to companies. I just don’t have time, but I want to land my first sponsor before year end.
As for Instagram, I started testing out. But just feels like a hassle, and energy spent elsewhere is better for now!
Below are my goals for the month of November!
- Keep traffic above 200 000 page views
- Make a list of potential sponsor companies
- Get to 4000 Pinterest followers
- Build up my email list to 200 subscribers
I just finally joined Convertkit to capture emails.
I am completely new to the email game, so let’s see how that goes!
Final Thoughts
Month 7 was a great month, and I finally have started earning decent money from this blog.
Hopefully it will all continue!
Cheers,
Richard-T
